at the risk of sounding completely close minded / racist / frightened / ignorant, i pretty much go on high alert and avoid young african american men and teenagers whenever out in public.
ReplyDeletecb, can't say that I blame you and, sadly,I think that a great portion of the city population thinks the same way, I do. These ghetto thugs are ruining it for the black folks who actually contribute to our society and those black folks need to step to the plate and get these ghetto thugs put away. The city can't do it by itself.
ReplyDeleteAs a police officer I disagree with that comment, even though down the street from the Sedgwick station is evergreen and Sedgwick a mainly black area and street corner where drugs and gang violence is nothing new an this crime happened to be done by a black male I arrest plenty of white Latino and other races of ghetto people. Ghetto thugs don't have to be black which is such a common misconception. People should not only be on alert for african American thugs but other races too. We need to not be so close minded in out thoughts, by opening our minds we can be more alert and help raise our safety and the safety of those around us. Even though a large number of offenders are black it doesn't matter what color you are you can be a gang banger or a thug.
