The Chicago Department of Children and Family Services is investigating Harrison District police commander, Penelope Trahanas, for allegedly abusing her teenage daughter.

Through at statement made to the Chicago Sun-Times, a DCFS spokesperson confirmed Trahanas is under investigation.

Days before the child abuse allegations surfaced in the mainstream media, rumors were spreading through the blogosphere like a brush fire.

In 2010, Trahanas was acquitted of telephone harassment charges. The embattled police commander purportedly made telephone threats against her ex-boyfriend, Officer Matthew Jackson.

  2. How many embarrassing moments does it take to get fired? If I were constantly shaming my employer with my questionable public behavior I wonder how long I would have a job.

  3. I guess it would depend on how many loudmouthed storefront referenda from the south and west sides of Chicago you had supporting you to determine the amount and scope of your allowable fuck ups.
