2 Chicago cops accused of rape, accused of sexual assaults in the past?

According to an anonymous online source, the two Chicago police officers accused of raping a woman on the North Side, have been in trouble before.

On Wednesday, two 10-year Chicago police veterans allegedly took a 22-year-old woman back to her Rogers Park apartment, where one of the officers purportedly raped her.

A witness told investigators he saw a naked man running from the woman's apartment and a uniformed officer walking away from the scene.

Apparently, one of the cops allegedly involved in the reported rape, left behind part of his uniform and a cell phone.

A comment posted on Second City Cop, a popular Chicago police blog, indicates the officers in question have been in trouble before. The alarming comments were left by someone who identified themselves as, "A Supervisor Who Knows".

"These same two officers have been accused twice in the past by two separate women of the exact same thing. In those cases, the victims each reported the incident but later refused to follow through with the investigation. This one is different, in that the victim absolutely wishes to prosecute.

This one unfortunately appears to be true. If so, these two animals need to be locked up for a very long time.

  1. No wonder the CPD gets little respect from criminals, seems some of them are criminals themselves. That's too bad for the "good" cops when there are "bad" cops out there jacking everything up. Must not be too hard to become a police officer if they let these 2 through. Pathetic!
As far as the alleged "victim" goes, did they hold a gun to her head? Threaten her in any way? Why did she have sex with the first cop in the SUV? What's the deal here?

  2. She was drunk when they picked her up. Legally in IL, anyone intoxicated cannot give consent for sex. Police officers should be very familiar with this law. Ironic, since cops uphold/maintain the law.

These two monsters were using their power to take advantage of her...

  3. Than they should be thrown in a cell with the rest of the losers of this city! They'll get plenty of "action" in jail!

  4. The story I read on the Trib site states the woman had sex in the back of the police SUV, invited them up, played strip poker, had sex again, and THEN it's assault/rape? Sorry, don't buy it. Admittedly, cops are idiots for engaging in this behavior, esp while on duty, but where's this woman's responsibility for herself? She hardly sounds like an innocent victim.

  5. I read the same thing too. But if at any point she said no, and the sex continued, it's considered rape. If she was drunk that means her judgment was impaired and she may not have been able to give sexual consent.

  6. It's not clear whether she "invited" the police officers in to her apartment, or played strip poker without feeling intimidated into doing so. SSC anonymous posters also stated that if it was consensual, then what was the rush of the officers to leave. One of them left his cell phone and part of his uniform; neighbors also saw one of the POs in the hall naked. She was drunk, apparently on a lot of meds for bipolar disorder, and perhaps legally incapable of consent. At the very least, these assholes should be fired w/o pension.

  7. These allegations are a real black eye on the Chicago Police Department's image. It's funny that something like this should happen right after Jody Weis leaves office.

  8. Anon 12:04--it's also funny that they apparently did it before Jody left office, but nobody called them on it until now. I think a lot of rocks are going to get turned over now that Daley and crew are out. You know what happens when rocks get turned over, don't you? Creepy crawlies come running out.

  9. Anonymous, per the Tribune (which I can't verify, but don't consider it a completely unreliable source), she was drunk, had sex in SUV, invited them up, strip poker, sex again, and then she calls it rape. Where did it ever mention bipolar? I understand that a person has a right to say no to sex at any point, but you don't get drunk on bipolar meds (any dr will tell you not to drink AT ALL on these meds), have public sex, invite men into your personal space, have sex again, without taking SOME responsibility for your actions if things turn bad. The cops were wrong, completely inappropriate and foolish, but this woman is hardly innocent and I think it's a push to call it rape, regardless of the legal def'n.

  10. Forget about the rape charges, they are too vague considering the woman submitting to sex initialy. These cops should be slapped and then fired for being so stupid to do this while on duty and in uniform

  11. look at comments in SSC. Woman lived in residence for mentally challenged/mentally ill. Had tons of meds in apartment to treat psychiatric conditions. Something happened in the apt. that scared her. Even if a woman consents initially, if she resists and is forced or intimidated, it becomes sexual assault. Even the cops on SSC know that.

  12. People--pull back for a moment and start from the beginning: Police do NOT give you a ride home because you are drunk. They give you a ride to the POLICE STATION. So that was their first error in this plan. Second: while you are busy giving someone you could have put in a cab a ride home outside of your district, what distress call were you NOT available to respond to for a citizen in need?? Third: You are on duty, in a marked squad, out of district, and obviously lying to your commander about where you are at the moment: Why are you upstairs in her apartment for ANY reason?? and Final: This has been done in the past by both because you don't just say to your partner: Hey-wanna hit this too?? Funny-no one has given a description of these cops yet but any other citizen would have had their photo splattered all of the news by now. Why are they being spared? Are they NOT what we see in the news being labelled daily? Male Black suspect dot dot dot. I'm just saying...

  13. Anonymous 11:52AM: They aren't being splattered on the news because they have not been charged with a crime (yet). DNA evidence is pending. Responsible media outlets already know their names. Standard practice is to not connect suspects names with crimes until charges are filed. It prevents a little thing called "libel suits."

Need a good example of why names aren't named? Look no further than the not guilty, yet named suspect in the 1996 Atlanta Olympic bombing case.

BTW, our little soon-to-be-named CPD stud muffins are Hispanic.

  14. Once again these offenders MUST BE caucasian due to the fact that it is 4 days after the officer have been arrested and there are still no photos of the offenders. Had the offenders been of African descent their photo would be plastered all over the news papers and internet. Wow...whenever some does something this despicable nature that person/persons need to be revealed to the public.

  15. The officers do need to be reprimanded for their stupidity. Hey guys you should have left the drunk blondie alone. It is a very common scene for these young transplants to come live in the city and think that they can live iresponsibly without consequenses. Chicagoans have a keen sense of city life, unlike these poor folk from michigan, iowa etc.
