This evening, around 8 p.m., an emergency operator received a 911 call indicating a woman, suffering from postpartum depression, may have harmed her baby.
According to a police dispatch report, the 911 caller said, “…it’s too late. Something bad has happened to the baby”.
At 8:09 p.m., authorities confirmed there was a crime scene on the 3900 block of North Ashland Avenue, where the 911 call originated.
The injured child was taken to Thorek Hospital at 850 West Irving Park Road in Chicago's Uptown neighborhood. The severity of the child’s injuries have not been disclosed.
At the time of this report, the child’s mother and father were at the hospital.
According to information obtained by Chicago News Report, authorities were planning to make an arrest at the hospital.

It is actually the 3900 block of North Ashland Avenue. There are news trucks and a Chicago Police Forensics truck outside and alot of police activity.

ReplyDeleteAccording to updated information, the baby died as a result of its injuries. The baby's mother is still at Thorek Memorial Hospital.
