Suspect in Red Jacket Ditches Stolen Car in Edgewater

Police are looking for a suspect who bailed on a stolen vehicle in Chicago’s Edgewater neighborhood and led an officer on a brief foot chase.

The stolen car was abandoned around 7:52 a.m. near the intersection of North Sheridan Road and West Ardmore Avenue; which is approximately 5800 North Sheridan Road.

An officer chased the driver for several blocks, but lost him in a nearby alley.

The offender was described as a Middle eastern man, about 25 to 26-years-old, and was last seen wearing a red jacket.

According to police dispatch, the car was reported stolen January 14th.

  1. It's starting to look like we're getting it from every ethnic group out there. Blacks, hispanics, middle eastern. Is everybody becoming an "urban terrorist"? I know times are tough but come on, when you mug, beat, rob or shoot someone, you than make times tough for that victim.
