Did Kanye West's 'Bad Attitude' Close Orland Park Fatburger?

Fatburger on West 95th Street.
Rapper Kanye West's Orland Park, Illinois Fatburger restaurant at 15110 South LaGrange Road, has shutdown. The word on the Internet is, the eatery closed because of poor performance.

But what turned the customers off?

Based on one online review, West's restaurant was an unwelcome presence in Orland Park. The store allegedly attracted people from other neighborhoods who reportedly shoplifted at a nearby mall and made the town "smell bad". You can take the last part of that ridiculous statement any way you like.

More than a handful of reviewers felt Fatburger's prices were too high and the food wasn't as tasty as they expected. Most of these reviewers also said the store had customer service issues.

However, the overwhelming consensus is, a lot of people were turned off by Kanye West's alleged bad attitude.

Multiple online critics vowed they would never set foot in West's restaurant, because in their words, "he is rude and arrogant"... and eating at his establishment would endorse West's purported bad behavior.

Apparently, the people in Chicago's south side Beverly neighborhood are more forgiving.

West's Fatburger restaurant at 2341 West 95th Street is still open for business.

  1. Beverly is liberal. Orland Park is conservative.

  3. I went to Carl Sandburg HS in Orland Park..way back in the day and I can tell you that there was not a black person in my HS or grade school for that matter. NO black owned businesses either. I am sure Orland Park, Palos Park and Palos Heights are not happy with the changing environment of their towns. They are rather "foo foo"

  4. Well, if there was a boycott... it worked!

  5. Living mere blocks from this restaurant I refused to set foot in it because of his "George Bush doesn't care about black people" comment and am glad to hear it’s on its way out. Goodbye and good riddance.

Oh, and Rudy, it’s not that Beverly is liberal so much as its proximity to Englewood.

  6. dm, thanks for the tip. :) Does proximity to Roseland contribute to the "successful" Beverly location too?
