A Cook County Sheriff's gun was stolen during a break-in at the officer's South Shore apartment on Chicago's south side.
The burglary occurred around 1:30 a.m. on the 7500 block of South Essex Avenue.

1:30 AM? Nobody home? Seems they may have known what they were looking for. I would have thought that a cop would have had better security for sure! This is weird to me.
