Police were notified around 2:29 a.m.
According to the victim, an African-American man carrying a knife with a 3-foot long blade, robbed him near the corner of West Division Street and North LaSalle Boulevard.
At 2:32 a.m., the suspect was apprehended on the corner of Division and Dearborn.
Officers did not confirm the actual length of the blade used in the robbery.
