A man was shot near the intersection of West Howard Street and North Ashland Avenue in Chicago’s Rogers Park neighborhood.
The shooting occurred around 7:15 p.m. on the 1600 block of West Howard Street.
In addition to a wounded citizen, gunfire shattered the windows of a man’s third floor apartment and a business, also on the 1600 block of West Howard Street.
According to police, the gunshot victim took himself to St. Francis Hospital of Evanston. Preliminary reports indicate the victim is an African-American man. He was shot in the shoulder.
Police found shell casings at 1615, 1632, and 1634 West Howard Street.
