A thief attempting to steal a man’s cell phone, punched his victim in the face.
The attempted robbery occurred around 7:30 p.m., near the intersection of West Addison Street and North Austin Avenue in Chicago’s Portage Park Neighborhood.
Police described the offender as an African-American man with a dark complexion, approximately 6-feet-tall, and was last seen wearing a black jacket with a hood.
After the attempted robbery, the crook ran eastbound on West Addison Street.
