A man was bludgeoned over the head with an unidentified object, handcuffed, and carjacked at a Belmont-Cragin Laundromat.

The violent scene unfolded at the Spin Cycle at 2930 North Central Avenue, around 5:17 a.m.

Police were alerted by a 911 caller who contacted authorities from the Golden Nugget Pancake House at 3001 North Central Avenue.

When police arrived on the scene, the victim’s hands were bound behind his back and he was bleeding profusely from the head.

The offenders were described as a Hispanic man and a white woman.

The male suspect is approximately 5’8’, has a stocky build, pockmarks on his face, and was last seen wearing all black clothing. The female offender is a “skinny neighborhood crack head who goes by the name Nikki", said police.

Both offenders fled the scene in the victim's black GMC Envoy. Because of the victim’s condition, he was unable to tell police which way the perpetrators fled the scene.

  1. This "hood" is infested with homeless folks. They drink way to much and piss all over the place. The alderman should get lost. Since he's been in office the neighborhood went to crap. The area is also not the best do to the nightclubs. Lots of drunk drivers in the area after hours. Gang graffiti is also everywhere. Nothing like it was years ago when "WALLYS HOTDOG STAND" was there. Belmont and Central area WAS great.
