Man Carjacked at Austin Gas Station

A man was carjacked at a gas station near the intersection of West Jackson Boulevard and South Laramie Avenue, in Chicago‘s Austin neighborhood.

According to one source, the vehicular hijacking occurred around 8:34 p.m., at a gas station at 5201 West Jackson Boulevard.

The victim told police he was putting gas in his car, when an African-American man jumped into his vehicle and took off. The car thief was described as approximately 6’2”, slim build, with dreadlocks.

Police are searching for a 2002, silver, Pontiac Grand Am with the partial temp tag, 991. The stolen car may look similar to one in the photograph.
