Barefoot Criminal Escapes Police Custody

A man being transferred from one police facility to another, has escaped.

The incident occurred around 8:50 p.m.

According to police, Armando Matos (I'm not sure of the spelling of his last name), who was being held for a myriad of charges, including obstruction of justice, is on the loose.

Matos is wearing a black shirt, has a tattoo of the word “Maya” on his neck, and isn’t wearing any shoes. The escaped convict was also wearing handcuffs.

According to one source, Matos was in an 8th district police car when he managed to disappear.

The prisoner was last seen running down an alley on the 3900 block of North Washtenaw Avenue.

A police helicopter was called in to assist with the search.
