Lincoln Park Residents Find Stranger Sleeping in Their Apartment

This morning, around 5 a.m., the residents at a three-story Lincoln Park condo on the 2300 block of North Halsted Street, awoke to find an unfamiliar and unwelcome houseguest.

The 911 caller told police an unknown man entered their 3rd floor apartment through an unlocked door. The man appeared to be drunk and was passed out on the floor.

According to the complainant, several attempts were made to awaken the sleeping stranger, but he wouldn’t budge.

The moral of this story is, always lock your doors or intoxicated strangers may use your home as a free motel.

  1. Ok, what kind of sleeping pills do these people take that they didn't hear a drunk stumbling around in their home who probably then FELL passed out on the floor? And how was this drunk able to walk up 3 flights of stairs? Sure would like to see that sight!

  2. LOL! Whoever he was, the cold probably motivated him to keep searching until he found a way in. Or, the alleged drunk lives in a third floor apartment in another building, and thought he was at home.

For a brief stint in my twenties, I used to get plastered. I could tell you stories that would put this one to shame! :-)
