Man Shot in the Back During Home Invasion: ‘the bullet went through and through’

At approximately 12:27 a.m., police responded to a “person shot” call on Chicago’s south side.

A man believed to be in his fifties was shot in the right side of his back on the 7700 block of South Winchester Avenue. Police said the man was shot during a home invasion.

When describing the shooting victim’s injuries, an officer on the scene said, “the bullet went through and through”.

Despite being shot in the back, the officer said the victim appeared to be in good condition. Subsequent reports indicated the man is in stable condition.

A description of the offender or offenders wasn't available. No arrest have been made.
