At approximately 10:30 a.m., an anonymous caller reported a potential bomb threat at the Illinois Institute of Technology, 3201 S. State Street. Supposedly, a suspicious device was spotted on the campus.
According to investigators, the tipster didn't say where the device was or what it looked like. The only thing the caller said was a device was going to be detonated at the school.
Several IIT buildings were evacuated and no explosives were found.
Students and faculty were allowed to return to campus around 1 p.m.
