Two men were found shot at Truman College, 1145 West Wilson Avenue, in Chicago’s Uptown neighborhood.
The shootings occurred around 3:50 p.m. at 1041 West Wilson Avenue, near the intersection of West Wilson Avenue and North Kenmore Avenue. Several shell casings were found at the scene.
Police also found shell casing at North Kenmore Avenue and North Winthrop Avenue.
Authorites apprehended a man matching the description of the shooter, who was described as an African-American man dressed in all black. The alleged offender was taken into custody at 4515 West Sheridan Road. According to the arresting officer, no weapon was recovered. However, a witness positively identified the suspect as the shooter.
Witnesses said a black man in a lime-green jacket, with the letters HCO written on the front, may have also been involved in the shooting. HCO is a designer brand of clothing. The initials stand for Hollister Co.
One shooting victim is 17-years-old and sustained gunshot wounds to the left shoulder and left leg. He was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in serious-to-critical condition.
The second victim is 19-years-old, and was shot in the right shoulder. He was taken to St. Francis Hospital in Evanston in fair-to-serious condition.
