Three suspects wanted in as many as 12 armed robberies, were chased by police, early this morning. Police didn’t say the suspects were connected to the north side robberies recently publicized in the media, but I have a hunch this incident is related to those crimes.
The action started just before 12 a.m., after an attempted robbery at the Dunkin Donuts at 3000 N. Ashland Ave., in Chicago's Lakeview neighborhood.
Police chased three offenders in a red Subaru with license plate KS 65173 for several blocks. We picked up the wild ride when it reached the intersection of West North Ave. and North Ashland Ave.
The pursuit came to an end when the suspects crashed their vehicle, and two of the three offenders were arrested at West Adams Street and South Bell Ave.
A third offender is still on the loose. He was described as an African-American man, 5’9”, 170 lbs, bald, and wearing glasses. Police say he was probably wounded when the Subaru crashed.
At 12:50 a.m., police were checking local hospitals for the suspect.
