Nazir Lowe, Bitten by Police Dog, Referred to as a 'Little Dog' by Local News Station

Was this an honest mistake, or was someone trying to be cute?

On October 8, 2010, little Nazir Lowe waited anxiously in line for his turn to pet a police dog. Sadly, the boy would end up bitten twice; once by man's best friend and then by the media.

Last Friday, an officer and a K-9 were invited to the Koontz Elementary School, as part of a Salisbury Police Department demonstration.

After Nazir pet the dog and turned to walk away, the pooch bit the little boy on the neck and took off part of his ear. Ouch!

But the story doesn’t end there. Adding insult to injury, WBTV, a Salisbury, North Carolina news station, referred to little Nazir as a “LITTLE DOG”.

The embarrassing caption, “Little Dog Bit By Police Dog”, was displayed underneath the news video regarding the k-9 attack on the little boy.

The news station later changed the caption to something less offensive.
