This CTA train station is becoming one of my personal favorites, but my heart goes out to any of my readers who have to use it.
At 4:28 a.m., a CTA employee at the Ashland/Lake Street "L" station, 1601 W. Lake Street, called police after a man jumped the turnstile.
When the employee asked the man to pay his fare, the “jumper” said he wanted to speak to the police. When asked why he wanted to speak to the police, the “jumper” pulled a knife!
I guess he doesn't like to be questioned.
The knife-pulling-turnstile-jumper was described as an African-American man, wearing a red hat with the letter "A" on it, and a brown jacket.
To my delight, at 4:49 a.m., police arrested the man.
