As the Chicago police department made the dubious announcement that overall crime is down in the city, 6 people were wounded by gunfire in Chicago, overnight. One of them was a 24-year-old Rogers Park man.
On October 3, 2010, around 1:40 am, the 24-year-old shooting victim was reportedly walking with a group of friends on 1600 block of West Chase Ave., when two Hispanic men approached him. One of the suspects allegedly asked the victim which gang he belonged to. When the victim said he didn’t belong to a gang, one of the offenders whipped out a gun and shot him in the stomach.
According to Chicago Breaking News, one of the assailants was 5’5” to 5’7” and 160 to 180 lbs. He was also wearing a baseball cap with the letter “P” on it.
The gunshot victim is being treated at St. Francis Hospital in Evanston and is reportedly in stable condition.
Yes. Overall crime is definitely down.
