Edgewater 7-Eleven Robbery Suspect Captured in Rogers Park After Police Car Chase

7-Eleven at Clark and Catalpa robbed, 1 suspect arrested.

At 10:26 p.m., we picked up a high-speed, police car chase at the intersection of North Broadway and West Bryn Mawr Ave., in Chicago’s Edgewater community.  Police were chasing a suspect (or several suspects) wanted for a robbery at a 7-Eleven, located at 5457 N. Clark Street (Clark and Catalpa).

Police were in pursuit of a Toyota with license plate: K727030.

At 10:31 p.m., the suspect’s vehicle crashed at the corner of West Birchwood Ave. and North Sheridan Rd. An ambulance was immediately called to the scene.

The driver of the Toyota fled on foot, as the police gave chase.

At 10:34 p.m., police announced that a suspect was in custody at 7508 North Eastlake Terrace, in Rogers Park.

Investigators are still trying to determine how many people were involved in the 7-Eleven robbery and how many occupants were in the Toyota.

Police say the offender didn’t display a weapon during the robbery, but made hand gestures implying he was armed.

  1. I saw this guy driving north on the bike path last night behind the condos at the 5700 Block of Sheridan Rd. He then took off west on Ardmore and turned north on Broadway.

  2. I'm glad you mentioned that. Police were trying to figure out if he tossed a weapon on the bike path.
