CTA Brown Line Service Interruption; Woman Nearly Raped at CTA Bus Stop

CTA had to temporarily cut the power to the Brown Line, when several men were spotted on the train tracks at the Rockwell, Brown Line station at 4648 N. Rockwell Ave.

The incident occurred early this morning, around 1:37 a.m. No additional information is available.

A woman on the south side of Chicago told police she was nearly raped at a CTA bus stop.

The attempted sexual assault happened around 1:51 a.m., at a bus stop on the 8900 block of South Cottage Grove Ave. The victim said two men tried to sexually assault her, but she fought them off, and got away.

The men were described as African-American. A more detailed description of the offenders was not available.
