There have been illegal vendors on CTA since I was a little boy. People selling wallets, incense, boot-leg CDs, and socks are nothing new. But based on this next report, illegal CTA vendors are moving into the drug trade.
At 9:06 p.m., someone called 911 to report a man selling “cocaine” on a CTA Green Line train. The caller said the man was riding on the first car of a Loop bound ‘L” train, stationed at 1601 W. Lake Street.
The “cocaine” dealer was described as a white male, wearing a black and white hoodie. By the time police caught up with the train, the man had reportedly fled the scene.
Police speculated the man got off the train in the Loop.
Mark my words. Soon… I’ll be writing reports on CTA, gang turf wars.
NOTE: On October 14, 2010, a man was reportedly robbed at gunpoint at this location. You can read that story by clicking HERE.
