Deantonio Goss, Chicago Public School Student, Shot & Killed

Deantonio Goss, murdered.
On September 8, 2010, around 2:45 am (broad daylight), 16-year-old Bowen High school student, Deantonio Darnell Goss, was shot and killed in Chicago's South Chicago neighborhood. The shooting occurred on 86th and Saginaw, just moments after the teen left school.

Darryl Jackson, Deantonio's father and an anti-violence advocate, believes his son’s shooting was unintentional and may have been sparked by another student’s altercation with several teens.

Whether or not Goss was the intended shooting victim is debatable. But the evidence is not. The 16-year-old boy was shot twice: once in the arm and once in the back.

The Chicago Police Department has released few details in this case.

In my quest for more background information on Goss, I searched Facebook. There are several accounts with Goss’ name and picture. All of them are locked, due to privacy settings. One account is a memorial to the late teen.

According to WGN, no one is in custody for Goss’ murder.
