12:12 am --- Shots were fired at Chicago police officers, and the cops were forced to return fire, on the 6500 block of South Seeley Ave.
There were two African-American suspects.
According to an officer on the scene, the suspect who ran eastbound, fired 5 shots; and the suspect who fled southbound on Hoyne, fired 2 shots. One shooter is described as African American, with long curly hair or braids. He was carrying a silver handgun and fled the scene in a gray Bonneville with a modified exhaust pipe.
At least one person was injured. An ambulance was called to the scene and all squad cars were ordered to clear the way for medical assistance.
A location at 65th and Damen was also mentioned as a crime scene.
30 minutes later, mainstream media picked up the story, with most of the important details missing.
