Lawsuit Filed Against Chicago Rental Solutions; Children Burned with Acid

So far, no one is willing to take the blame for 10-year-old Adrian Bennett and 11-year-old Nala Armstrong’s acid burns. The lies stories are conflicting, and you need a flowchart to keep up with them.

If you believe what has been printed by several news sources, someone is having a hard time keeping their story straight. I don't know if it's the 13-year-old offender's mother, the victims, the press, or all of the above. If I were a betting man, I'd put my money on the offender's mother.

In an interview with the Chicago Tribune, the boy’s mother told a reporter that her 13-year-old son (who has been charged with heinous battery) thought he was throwing water on the children. “He didn't know it was going to be like that. He was very scared, very scared,“ she told the press.

Was he really scared? Really?! According to NBC, when Gwen Davis, 11-year-old Nala Armstrong’s mother, questioned the 13-year-old, he appeared to be more defensive, than afraid. "And all the little boy could say was, 'You ain't got no proof. You ain't got no proof,'" said Davis.

Today, WGN is reporting that there are conflicting reports; one of which, indicts the 13-year-old boy tripped over the bucket of acid, causing it to spill on the children, who were standing below the porch where the acid was purportedly left by a maintenance worker.

In a lawsuit against Chicago Rental Solutions, LLC, the management company responsible for the property where the incident took place, attorneys from Coplan & Crane, say a maintenance man left a bucket of sulfuric acid on a back porch, for months. At this time, the attorneys are not suing the boy, or his mother. Instead, they are going after the management company. Which makes perfect sense. Chicago Rental Solutions' pockets, are much deeper.

I looked into the property management's background. I couldn't find a single complaint against them. They've been an accredited member of the Better Business Bureau since 2007, no complaints have ever been filed with the BBB, and they currently have an A rating.

Realistically, my findings have little to no baring on this case. If someone who was acting as an agent of Chicago Rental Solutions, acted negligently, and said negligence caused a tenant, or the guest of a tenant, harm; Chicago Rental Solutions may be held accountable... no matter how squeaky clean their BBB record is.
