Chicago: Boy Missing From Carjacked Vehicle

I have been trying my best to confirm the location of this incident. So far, I’ve had no luck.

But here is what I know:

Some time around 4 am, a man was carjacked. The suspect pulled a gun and ordered the man out of his vehicle; believed to be a white, Mercedes. When police arrived on the scene, the victim was hysterical, and getting details from him was extremely difficult.

Soon, it became apparent why the man was so distraught. At the time of the carjacking, his 9-year-old son was in the vehicle. Police found the abandoned car, but there was no sign of the boy. At 6:50 am, an officer confirmed that the child is still missing.

So far, I haven’t heard any Amber Alerts, and none of the mainstream media outlets are reporting this story. Which is extremely puzzling, and frustrating to me. I can only imagine what the victim is going through. Normally, I keep my personal feelings out of my news reports, but when a child is involved - disassociating yourself from the reality of what has happened, is hard.

My heart goes out to this man and his family. I hope his son is returned to him safely.
