There is nothing more frustrating, than dealing with an idiot. And there is nothing more infuriating, than having someone waste your time. But be careful how you handle the situation. If you allow yourself to loose your cool, you could end up with a police record.
On August 1, 65-year-old Maxine Huff wanted a $10 discount, per a store coupon, applied to a previous purchase. So, she called Carson Pirie Scott in Wilmette, Illinois and spoke with an employee. According to Huff, the store clerk told her to come back to the store to receive her discount. But when Huff arrived the next day, the clerk informed Huff that she wasn't going to get a $10 credit, and that her previous charges were correct.
According to the clerk, who has not been identified, once Huff realized she wasn’t getting a discount, Huff called her an "idiot" and a “moron”. Then Huff allegedly barked, “You don’t know what I am capable of doing!“ After the verbal smack-down, the clerk said she felt something hit her arm. The police say that something was Huff’s purse.
“911. What’s your emergency?!”
When the police arrived, Huff admitted she brushed by the clerk, but insisted she didn’t hit her. Huff told the cops that she innocently walked by the clerk, while looking for her 92-year-old mother, with whom she came to the store.
The store clerk was treated for a swollen elbow and Huff was charged with battery and given a September 16, 2010 court date.
