Around 1am, a 21-year-old man was shot 16 times at 5546 S. Union. The man was found lying on the porch. At least one of his 16 gunshot wounds, was to the head. The man was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he later died.
The shooter is described as African-American, with dreadlocks or twists, and wearing a white shirt and blue jeans. The suspect fled the scene in a green minivan. Police found the vehicle abandoned in an alley near Union and Emerald.
