Overnight news

Here's a glimpse of some of the incidents that occurred in Boystown, Lincoln Park, Bowmanville, and Rogers Park.

1:39 a.m. -- Police responded to a Boystown, Lakeview neighborhood bar after a battery was reported at Mini Bar, 3341 North Halsted Street.

Citing police dispatch reports, security was holding two male suspects.

According to a responding officer, one of the males sustained a bloody nose. 

2:10 a.m. -- A woman was struck in the face with a bottle in Lincoln Park.

The attack occurred near the intersection of North Lincoln and West Wrightwood Avenues, said police.

Investigators said the offender is a black male, 30 to 35-years-old, with shoulder-length braids.

Although police did not discuss a motive for the attack, they described the incident as an aggravated battery.

The victim, who was transported to Illinois Masonic Hospital,  was said to be in good condition.

2:38 a.m. -- A rape was reported in the Chicago's North Side Bowmanville neighborhood.

According to police communications, a male rape victim, who was sexually assaulted two days ago, was found naked and crying on the 5300 block of North Western Avenue.

At 2:46 a.m., a responding officer requested an ambulance.

3:19 a.m. -- In Rogers Park, woman was attacked by an unknown offender on the 6800 block of North Lakewood Avenue, said police.

The suspect was described as a Hispanic male, possibly 25-years-old, about 5'5". He was last seen wearing a white T-shirt and light-colored short pants, said police.

Investigators said the offender fled the scene westbound on Farwell from Lakewood.
