Around 10:26 p.m., gunshots were reported on the 6600 and 6700 blocks of North Ashland Avenue, near Ashland and North Shore.
Citing police communications, during the gunfire, a 911 caller heard a male scream, “I’ve been hit!”
Upon their arrival, officers found an injured black male lying on a porch at 1540 West North Shore Avenue.
Initially, authorities said the victim was shot in the back, but later said the male was shot in the abdomen.
According to preliminary reports, shots were fired from a black SUV or a black Geo Tracker, occupied by two male Hispanics.
The unofficial word is the shooters are Latin Kings and a retaliatory shooting may already be in the works; which seems to suggest the so-called victim may have ties to a gang.
According to the last update, the patient was transported to St. Francis Hospital in Evanston, Illinois, in stable condition.
Stories about street crimes committed by whites and Latinos are not of interest to your racist white fan base.

ReplyDeleteHyde is the most diverse neighborhood in the city yet there's no drive-by's there. It's one of the safest neighborhoods in the city. Do you know why that is? It's because it is mostly inhabited by educated, civilized people of different races. It's not diversity that destroys neighborhoods, it's stupidity, racism, ignorance, drug dealing and the thug element that people in the ghetto neighborhoods tolerate.

ReplyDeleteActually, Beverly on the far southwest side is one of the safest. And the population is about half black and half white. Nice big gorgeous homes on winding, hilly streets. Not only is it one of the safest, but it's probably the prettiest neighborhood in Chicago. And yes, the residents of this neighborhood are mostly college educatated and above and fairly well to do (middle to upper middle class).

I still have extreme liberal family members that will defend Hyde Park until they die..& they probably will be murdered there. I love the area, but looks are deceiving ..I was mugged too many times there & my apartment was broken into so many times..it gave me the creeps..I moved to Rogers Park & the same scenario took place..but between the two ..I think I would feel safer in Roger Park..Maybe because the Muslim cab driver neighbors have more values.

PC liberals..who defend the indefensible..Well, decades ago, when I first arrived in beautiful Hyde Pk,a black cop, a friend of my sisters..warned me of the Hyde Pk rapist. Sure enough I met him!I first saw his afro shadow reflected on the sidewalk. He came up behind me & grabbed my throat. He showed me his knife. He had been raping U of Chg students. I refused to go with him. I grabbed on to a car door handle & he said, "Walk with me!" I refused & told him I had kids at home..that I was poor etc. etc. It worked! Later I was able to give a description & police got the Kenwood High School student. He was the Hyde Pk rapist. He not only had raped U of Chg. students but a women at the Hyde Pk Bank. Kenwood High School students were robbing people on their lunch hour some time back. I would take Rogers Park over Hyde Park...tales from Creepy Chicago!
