Knifepoint robbery at Ravenswood neighborhood train station

A man was robbed at knifepoint in front of a Ravenswood neighborhood “L” station, said police.

The armed robbery happened shortly after 1 a.m. outside the CTA Montrose Brown Line at 1817 West Montrose Avenue.

According to the initial police dispatch report, the victim was robbed by a black male offender. However, the mugger’s description was later changed to a male Hispanic.

Investigators said a skinny, 5’2” robber in his 20s, stole the victim’s paycheck and $325.

The suspect, who was armed with two knives, was wearing a black shirt, white pants, and carrying a black backpack, said police.

After chasing the mugger for several blocks, the victim lost sight of the offender somewhere near Ravenswood and Wilson Avenues.

  1. The "hoity toity" Brown Line route. Oh, I know, there will be a new trendy hidden boundary phrase soon like "don't buy north of Belmont off the Brown Line". All the real estate agents and rental agencies will capitalize on this new trend for 15 months and once it all fades, another boundary will be developed for a $. There's this big oaf out there that thinks he's better than me because he lives off Southport. BFD. He can't speak a sentence without the word "Southport" in it while spitting Irish beer on you at the same time. Essentially, he's still just a beer swilling hillbilly with an updated version of 99 cent flip-flops. Even Rosie O'Donnell saw through this. This city is hilarious.

5'2"?!!! If he didn't huff and puff and blow his a*s down, knives or not, what the H was he doing chasing him afterwards?

Some of this stuff actually sounds too far-fetched. But a 5'2" mexican does sound more believable then a 5'2" black.

Just put a Starbucks there. All will be o.k.

    Hilarious.

  3. The Brown Line has by far the lowest Savage to Human ratio, hence its usability.

  5. Something fishy here. A mugger just happened to luck out and pick someone carrying $325 BEFORE cashing his paycheck? How many people get paid by check AND carry that kind of cash at 1am? I bet "the victim" actually lost his paycheck gambling or buying drugs before realizing his girlfriend/wife would be the one pulling knives on him for coming home empty handed.
