The accuracy of some of these reports have not been verified; they are merely a log of the complaints made with the Chicago Police Department.
7:37 p.m. -- A large crowd of black youths were headed toward Oak Street Beach, 1000 North Lake Shore Drive, on the Near North Side.
Officers in the area where instructed to remain on high alert.
Nearly an hour later, at approximately 8:36 p.m., an additional 15 to 20 black youths were seen approaching Oak Street Beach, via a nearby tunnel.
The officer who spotted the group described the mob as “unruly”.
8:19 p.m. -- Police assigned to Michigan Avenue were instructed to remain “highly visible”; especially, after the sun went down.
8:28 p.m. -- A situation, described as a “riot” by one 911 caller, was reported at a CHA housing complex at 2730 South State Street.
According to police dispatch reports, 20 to 30 males and females were fighting with sticks.
When police arrived at the scene, the group fled the area - scattering in all directions.
8:38 p.m. -- A battery was reported at Chicago’s Lincoln Park Zoo.
Citing information provided by the zoo’s security, a fight erupted at a soccer field on the 1700 block of North Cannon Drive.
No arrests were made and the alleged victim refused police services, said a responding officer.
8:53 p.m. -- Police were told be on the lookout for a Chevy Tahoe driving around the perimeters of the Lincoln Park Zoo.
Citing police communications, the vehicle, which was seen driving with its lights off, may have been involved in the shooting near Cannon Drive.
9:21 p.m. -- There were several reports of mobs chasing and beating someone at various locations on Chicago’s Near North Side.
911 callers reported attacks at Chicago and Larabee, Chicago and Cambridge, and Chicago and Sedgwick.
Eventually, police found a female battery victim at Chicago and Cambridge, around 9:24 p.m.
The victim was struck in the face, according to police dispatch.
Preliminary information indicated a large group of black females are responsible for the attack.
9:54 p.m. -- Authorities were investigating a possible suicide attempt at 10 West Chestnut Street.
A 25-year-old woman was found unresponsive inside a locked bathroom, according to police dispatch.
A responding officer said it appears the woman overdosed.
The patient is said to be in serious to critical condition.
Wow. Lincoln Park is going to the spooks now too. Just terrible.
