Fire at Lakeview Mexican restaurant


Early Sunday morning, a fire erupted at a North Side, Lakeview neighborhood eatery.

Around 6:23 a.m., a fire was reported at 3057 North Ashland Avenue, near Ashland and Barry.

According to online business records, the address belongs to a Mexican restaurant called Dona Torta.

The southbound lane of North Ashland Avenue remained open while firefighters battled the blaze. However, the southbound lane was temporarily closed.

Officials said the blaze was sparked by a grease fire.
