Cops: Rogers Park robbers threatened to shoot victim

An overnight robbery victim on Chicago’s Far North Side said he was threatened with violence if he didn’t give up his valuables, according to police dispatch.

On Sunday, June 10, 2012, at approximately 2:23 a.m., a victim on the 2000 block of West Birchwood Avenue, in Rogers Park, reported a robbery.

Citing preliminary police communications, three to four black males threatened to shoot the victim.

After speaking with the complainant, investigators further described the offenders as four black males in their 20s.

One of the participants in the robbery “implied he had a weapon”, said police.

The thieves stole the victim’s iPhone and a wallet containing a debit card and $80, said police.

At the time of this report, the muggers were still at large.
