A Chase bank was robbed in Chicago’s Near North Side neighborhood, said police.
At 1:37 p.m., a bank robbery was reported at the Chase bank at 1200 North State Parkway.
The suspect, described as a male black wearing a black long-sleeved crewneck t-shirt, a black jacket, and a black stocking cap, handed a teller a note that said, "robbery", and fled with an unspecified amount of cash, said police.
Investigators said the loot was placed in a plastic bag; possibly a CVS Pharmacy bag.
The bank robber is believed to be in his 20s, about 5’6” to 5’8”, 140 to 160 pounds, and he looked like he might have been under the influence of a controlled substance, said authorities.
FBI officials reviewed the bank's security cameras and reportedly said the robber looks like same suspect involved in the December 13, 2011, robbery at the Chase Bank at 1700 North Wells Street.
The suspect was last seen going westbound on Division Street.

Seems like there have been a lot of bank robberies over the past few years. Maybe the success of others' is driving new people to rob banks?
ReplyDeleteAlso, what ever happened to robbing the vault too? Seems like all these thiefs just clear out a drawer or 2, and then leave...
Seems like a risky sort of crime with a high likelihood of getting caught and doing some heavy time. Most don't seem like mental giants.
ReplyDeleteWhat a regression from the days of Bonnie and Clyde.
