Thief used bottle in Lakeview robbery, says cops
A woman was robbed on the North Side of Chicago late Friday evening, said police.
Around 10:25 p.m., a woman was robbed near the Belmont “L” station at 945 West Belmont Avenue, in Chicago’s Lakeview community, said police.
Although police dispatch gave the Belmont train station as the location of the crime, it’s unclear if the incident occurred on the platform, or at street-level.
Investigators said a male black offender brandished a brown and greenish bottle and robbed the female victim.
Police did not say if the bottle was broken or intact.
The suspect stole the victim’s camera bag containing several pieces of equipment, said police.
The thief is approximately 25-years-old, about 6’2”, and 180 pounds.
The crook was wearing a black jacket and a black scarf over his face.
At the time of this report, there was no indication an arrest had been made.

Now if Chicago was a truly "green" city and had a bottle return law, that glass would have more value than to be used as weapons, smashed all over the concrete every 10' and lying all over outside your "Alderman's" office there. The violent vagrants (oops, "homeless") would be making themselves more productive and turning them in at the store.
ReplyDeleteProblem #133 easily solved here in your progressive, liberal surrounds.
Back in the day, soda/pop bottles could be redeemed for 5 to 25 cents. At least that's the way I remember it.
ReplyDeleteSo, the city "progressed" I'm taking it? I'm not one of those "greenpeace" people but, sorry, Chicago just got slammed big time for being a phony image-seeking green city wannabe and I couldn't agree more.
ReplyDeleteBut probably got that glass bottle lying in front of that storefront next to that Alderman's office. Want a pic? Chicago?
