Saturday, October 8, 2011, between 3 a.m. and 3:30 a.m., several CTA passengers were robbed at gunpoint at the Loyola Red Line stop at 1200 West Loyola Avenue in Rogers Park.
A man pulled a sawed-off shotgun out of backpack and stole nearly a half dozen cellphones from CTA riders, said ABC7 News.
Instead of including a description of the suspect, the ABC7 report is full of useless quotes from people who weren't even present when the armed robbery occurred.
T., thanks for the news tip!
ReplyDeleteNP Timothy. It was on the news today/tonight, didn't know if you saw it but every little bit helps with tips and keeps us all on our toes.
ReplyDeleteT., I knew something happened on the Red Line, because people were searching Google for "shooting on the Red Line".
ReplyDeleteThank you for solving that mystery!
Damn the monkeys are out of control in chicago....
ReplyDeleteAmazing. While at least 75% of the people using this station are white, they interviewed five people & three of them were black.
ReplyDeleteChannel 7 is real racist here & perpetuates the stereotype of who rides the L, and of course never gives even the slightest description of the robber.
Crime is not down! What lies. And what good is "being alert" going to do if someone is walking around WITH A SHOTGUN? I'm so sick of this shithole.
ReplyDelete"The city where it's easier to get a gun than a can of spray paint".
ReplyDeleteAnonymous@5:09, I thought the EXACT same thing when I saw that report.
ReplyDeleteNo description of the criminal...we all know it was a ...drum roll...black male. I am so sick of the blacks. I wish someone would shot one of these animals. How in the hell does one of these black criminals afford a CTA pass..did they steal it from someone? Black scum bags don't work they just steal from white people.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Chicago & State of IL, for continuing to not allow CCW.
ReplyDeleteObviously, CCW's being allowed doesn't guarantee that this sort of thing would happen, but it does do at least two things:
1) Criminals know that the huge percentage of law-abiding citizens (i.e., their targets) do not carry, bc it is illegal. No longer having that advantage may make them think twice about such a brazen robbery of multiple people at once.
2) Should, God forbid, people find themselves in this situation, at least their is a chance that an armed, trained citizen (or several) can confront the shotgun-toting maniac.
Sure, he didn't shoot anybody, but how do any of the terrified victims at the time of the robbery know that he won't?
Allow CCW, and give the honest, law abiding citizens the opportunity to legally protect themselves.
Just another reason to get your news from blogs, and avoid the mainstream media completely. You should spam CNR links on the comments section of their videos...
ReplyDeleteAnybody remotely connected to the drug trade deserves the death penalty, especially for crap like this happening. Or better, yet revoke their citizenship and deport them to the closest country available.
ReplyDeleteI believe the shot gun robbery at the Sheridan stop had the same MO as the Loyola & the suspect has been arrested, (see todays Tribune)
ReplyDeleteA suspect was arrested all the way out in Harvard late Wed. night

The Center on Halsted will probably give the suspect a macbook pro in an attempt to heal his self esteem.
ReplyDeleteI agree, useless statements instead of a description!! its always taht way; a cop dropped dead 2 weeks ago cos a janitor sprayed cleaning chemicals on his desk - not once did they tell us what effing chemicals!!! wouldnt it help to know???
ReplyDeleteSawn-offs...reminds me of home :(
ReplyDeleteThe suspect is from Uptown he was arrested in Harvard. Suspects name Sylvester Curry 18yrs old
