Rogers Park shooting shatters window, gang intimidation 'upsets' neighborhood
Early Monday morning, more than a dozen Rogers Park residents reported gunshots and what appeared to be a brazen display of gang intimidation on the city's North Side.
The first wave of 911 calls poured in around 2:21 a.m.
Gunfire was reported at several locations on the 6900 block of North Ashland Avenue.
Shots were also heard near Ashland and Pratt, Ashland and Morse, and in the vicinity of Greenview and Morse.
An eyewitness described the gunman as a 19-year-old black man wearing a red jacket. The tipster also said the shooter was walking with three other male blacks.
A police officer who happened to be in the area, said he did not hear the shots.
Another officer said the residents were calling 911, because they were “upset” with a rowdy group of males who were “acting up”.
At 2:51 a.m., more gunfire exploded at the intersection of Ashland and Morse Avenues.
The caller who reported the shots said 10 male blacks were firing their weapons and throwing rocks at random apartment windows. The thugs were also threatening to kill anyone who called the cops on them, said the caller.
At 3:15 a.m., police confirmed a bullet went through an apartment window on the 6900 block of North Ashland, near Ashland and Morse Avenues.
As of 4 a.m., the shattered apartment window was the only property damage reported.
It's unclear if any physical injuries occurred.

You folks BETTER start SHOOTING some of these Thugs ("he was a Good Boy - just turning his life around") before you ALL end up DEAD.
ReplyDeleteMike, I don't know what was going on in Rogers Park this morning, but it sounded like the gangs were making it clear they run the streets.
ReplyDeleteI am so sick of black people and their shit. This world and Rogers Park would be so much better without these apes.
ReplyDeleteI think if the police showed up and just shot all of them, I think they'd come out ahead in the investigation. It's pest control.
ReplyDeleteI hate posting shyt like I wrote above, but my Sainted Mother lived in Chatham for over 50 yrs before Thugs sent it TO HELL.
ReplyDeleteNobody knows anything, nobody will "snitch" - UNLESS a White Cop is involved, then it's a thousand people marching.
I live WAY out in the suburbs now, and I wouldn't move back into that Gawd Damm City for ALL the money in the Effin' Universe.
btw: I am a Black Man 62yrs old
@Mike P,
ReplyDeleteGood for you for telling it like it really is and dropping the "pc" schtick. I am impressed:) We need more people like you to stand up and call it as they see and experience it.
EVERYBODY wants a safe place to live. And we need more nurturing, frequently-on-site dads. Many moms are struggling to make it n their own, but kids need both a consistent male and female influence to feel like they're part of a family unit. Stronger families mean fewer gangs.
ReplyDeleteAll the middle class blacks don't live in the City either. They have fled just like the whites. No one wants to live with these murders and rapists.
ReplyDeleteI thought blacks were leaving the city..bet these are the nigs from new Orleans. Can we ship them to Africa? Stupid thug monkeys!
ReplyDeletethese poor black teens need some male role model like jesse jackson sr
ReplyDeletelol, and to think it was said all the trouble came from the "TOP HAT". well it was closed down and look like things did not get better. i sure miss my favorite bar. but unfortunately the gang activity has rally become a problem in that area and true it's mostly young blacks who have had no real parenting, but that's no excuse for the pure racism being said on this page because if you go to other areas you will find the same crimes being committed by whites and other youths. and i am back and no we are not leaving the city.
ReplyDeleteMaybe its not their fault...
ReplyDeleteMaybe these young men weren't breast fed long enough
Get the gangs out of MY neighborhood!
