Ravenswood Walgreens manager cut with knife during attempted robbery


A Ravenswood neighborhood store manager was cut with a knife during an attempted robbery on the city’s North Side, said police.

Authorities said the incident happened around 10 a.m. at the Walgreens at 4801 North Western Avenue, near Western and Lawrence Avenues.

According to an officer at the scene, the Walgreens store manager sustained a superficial wound and refused medical treatment.

The offender was described as a male Hispanic, about 5’11”, and last seen wearing a red hooded sweatshirt.

The offender fled the scene northbound on Western Avenue.
