The robbery occurred on the 3300 block of North Halsted Street, near Halsted and Aldine, around 1:46 a.m.
Investigators said the cabby witnessed the crime and waited with the victim until police arrived.
Two black men, both around 6’2” and 19 to 20-years-old, snatched the woman’s purse, said police.
One offender was wearing a light blue shirt and light blue jeans.
The second suspect was wearing an orange and green, short sleeve jersey, with dark-colored pants.
The crooks were last seen running westbound on Aldine Avenue.

How's that "PC" working out for you Boystown? When the COH put they call out for "youth" that there was a safe place for them to come, they forgot that social networking sent the message out to the ghetto thugs to come too. Of course then you have GenderJust screaming "our poor youth". Losing battle trying to keep an "adult" entertainment area just for adults when kids now days think they are adults. Ha, most are ghetto thugs looking for that free ride instead of getting an education or job. Doesn't help that the redline ghetto express brings them in to rob, mug, stab, shoot or burglarize the area and then takes them right back to their hood with the loot.
ReplyDeleteThe area from Belmont/Halsted to Addison/Halsted should be off limits to anyone under 21. They can't go into the many bars there anyway and they sure as hell aren't spending money in the other places of business. What to do? What do to?

19 & 20 years old are no longer considered "youth" where I come from. The cars sittin' on dubs all along Halsted St. for Pride sunday (and now a regular sighting) most certainly don't belong to "youth" either. Really need to quit focusing on this COH as the root of problems in Boystown. It's coming from all angles. They've got "come one/come all" PC going on, no doubt about that.

ReplyDeleteHave to agree with you about the "youth" BUT didn't this really start getting out of hand there when the COH put the call out? It's almost like they said "come one come all" because when one "tween" shows up and sees the feast, then they social media the rest to come. I lived on Rosco, Melrose and even Halsted when that area was called "Newtown"...yea, I know, I'm dating myself...but the area was NEVER like this.
the thing that really bugs me about this, is the fact that we are concerned on the social service providers, or the fact that "they" need to go elsewhere, these issues always arise at first setting, having irish heritage in my blood i can say that my great grand dad had affliction with the same issues, no irish need apply was the term, but to say the least alot of the youth ive seem meandering the streets late at night do come to hang out, others come as ive been told to show themselves off, meaning that they are trans woman who cannot be, one girl i spoke to said that she was from west englewood and her sister got coincidently stabbed to death 2 years ago, she was also trans

So what, being trans or gay makes you disabled and unable to work? All the *bleep* phone survey and telemarketing joints are filled to the brim with gays of all types. Shoe and clothing stores, gay, gay gay. Most male waiters? Gaaaaaay. Hell, I even had a brief gay phase with a Walmart stocker and half the overnight stocking crew was gay. Those are some jobs they could work and be "themselves". Get them jobs, not more social services. This country will be bankrupt from the ever increasing. gibs me dat mentality.

ReplyDeleteThere aren't enough social services in the world that would make the "freebie mentality" happy. Half of these people don't even use all the social services available and they sure as hell don't contribute to them. When is enough enough? Seems we are /have become a sick society to avoid doing any work. Those who run out of unemployment now apply for social security disability using the stress of losing their jobs as a sickness...and most, after several tries, are getting it. Sick AND lazy, that's what we are becoming. Children/youth acting like adults but don't want to have to do what ADULTS have to do. Gimme a break! It's easier to bitch & scream and play the guilt/racist card, to rob, mug and burglarize the rest of society then to do anything to help themselves.
ReplyDeleteIm black gay 6'ft tall and walk in this area every day...Then again I also am in school have a degree never been arrested,and have a job in lakeview. I live alone not with my parents, and I dont have kids. I am also from Tennessee. Chicago is the most racist place ive ever lived. Period.I dont feel safe here because I feel like its any day now that im going to be accused of something I didnt do.

They have no problem with black on black crimes/violence in their hoods but it's the white people are the victimes of robberies, muggings and burglaries. These ghetto thugs create the profiling that happens and the black community should be enraged by their behavior. YOU are not WHO we are talking about but YOU are a victim of the profiling created by ghetto thugs. I'm sorry you are their victim as well.
