Attempted robbery at Rogers Park Dunkin Donuts

An attempted robbery at a North Side neighborhood donut shop was reported around 3:40 a.m.

The incident occurred at the Dunkin Donuts at 1200 West Loyola Avenue; located right below the Loyola Red Line CTA train station.

A man entered the store and demanded money from the clerk, said police.

Even though the offender flashed what appeared to be a gun, the suspect left the store without any proceeds, said authorities.

The would-be thief was described as a black man in his 20s and about 5’6”.

He was last seen wearing a plain black jacket with no markings and a black hat.

After the attempted robbery, the crook headed northbound on Sheridan Road.

  1. Once a again a black committed this crime. Big shock there! Is there sole occupation to rob and kill other people?

  2. I'm surprised that the offender is described as a black man. They don't seem the type to rob, rape, steal ect...

  3. Funny how blatant racism is always posted by "Anonymous". If you think your racist views are important enough to post to a public forum , at least have the courage to identify yourself.

Crimes are committed by individuals acting in their own interest whether right or wrong, not by an entire ethnicity, race, religion, or group.

  4. Yes, don't be anonymous. Put your full address, place of business/employment, email and personal phone number on your posts. Right Amanda M.?

  5. I thought all black folks worked full time? Perhaps they got the description wrong??

  6. Yeah Amanda M., all these crimes are committed by Amish people. Stop living in a fantasy world

  7. Wow-- well, I guess it's always a good reminder that the well of human prejudice and stupidity apparently has no bottom.

  8. I had no idea this Dunkin was open 24 hours.
But then I only use the Loyola L station during the day.
But I do know the cops are constantly arresting guys there, mostly for panhandling.

You display such breathtaking courage by using “Amanda M.” to identify yourself.

Unless it is those evil white males, right? Liberals love to beat up on their usual straw men.

  11. JUST ME September 21, 2011 11:09 PM ” ...AND WHITE FOLKS KILL THEIR SPOUSES AND PARENTS.....”

Oh boy, another lame, fallacious comment.

    Specifically:

    Tu quoque
Red herring (Two wrongs make a right)

At the risk of sounding obvious, I would also add that black people also kill their spouses and parents. I would be willing to bet that they do it at a rate that far exceeds other groups.

  12. I hate that and most Red Line stops, some wild-eyed crackhead always gets all excited when a white person comes around, like it's the f-ing cutest thing in the world to see an eager crackhead waiting for a quarter. The best way to get on a train at this stop is time it with train tracker and walk briskly, if not actually running past the half-dozen creatures who want money or to sell you stolen/useless junk. I don't know if they heard, but they have this place called a "store" that you go to when you want to buy something, not from somebody on the street. Also..headphones and/or faking an inability to understand English is also a must.
