A 23-year-old black man from Chicago, who goes by the name, pozchaser, said he is purposely trying to get infected with HIV/AIDS, because he wants a free check and free health care.
Most of pozchaser's remarks are so graphic and so obscene, they cannot be reprinted.
However, here's the G-Rated version of what the man initially said.
"No matter how much unprotected sex I have, I am still HIV negative."
When someone asked pozchaser why he wanted to contract HIV, the obviously disturbed man said, "So I can get that check at public aid. You get money for dying and a med card."

In all fairness, I have no idea if pozchaser was being serious, or if he's looking for attention. Either way, I found this conversation to be quite alarming.
This is totally disgusting. I know there are some lowlifes out there but this takes the cake!

ReplyDeleteActually this is fairly common. When you are diagnosed with certain mental or physical diseases you qualify for Social Security disability benefits. Once you qualify for SS, you also can receive subsidized housing, a medical card, the LINK card (food stamps), and a reduced price CTA pass. Sure beats going to work everyday. Did you know that babies who are born premature get SS checks?

Its very common. I see it all the time. I'm an hiv positive man living on the near north side and i get a lot of request on dating sites/hookup sites from negative guys asking me to "poz them". Truly sad. Nobody wants this, yet its a big fantasy for a lot of gay males. Sad.. just sad.
ReplyDeleteI've heard about this as well. What does this say about our society that a person would pay someone to give them HIV/aids JUST to get a monthly check and medical? Something very wrong with this picture.
ReplyDeleteSee that is why we have HIV/AIDS in the african american community. I've lost serveral classmtes and a very closE friend to AIDS and i've seen thee affects of this diease and it's nothing to joke about really.
