South Shore: Shooting on Kingston Avenue



Authorities are investigating a shooting in Chicago’s South Shore neighborhood.

Shots were fired in an alley on the 7700 block of South Kingston Avenue, around 12:06 p.m.

A man was shot in the leg behind 7736 South Kingston, said police.

A possible suspect, described as a black male wearing all black clothing, was spotted on the 7800 block of South Saginaw Avenue.

The shooting victim’s condition was not disclosed.

However, the injured man was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital for medical treatment.

It’s unclear if an arrest was made.

  1. I just don't get WHY the police don't raid the places where the KNOWN gang bangers live and confiscate ANYTHING illegal they find, including their guns. Think how many guns would than be off the streets, since the police have stated there are at least 75,000 gang members in this city, do the math! What's the problem?

  2. It's a bad time in this neighborhood. There was another shooting tonight at 79th & South Shore. Again, the police have known there were gang problems around this liquor store, but we only seem to get enough officers AFTER someone is shot.
