24-year-old Darrell J. Stephenson from Crest Hill, Illinois, was arrested Friday, June 10, 2011. He has been charged with aggravated criminal sexual abuse against a 12-year-old boy.
The 24-year-old man was taken into custody after a week-long investigation.
Police believe Stephenson may have sexually abused more than one boy.
Although several news reports identified Stephenson as a soccer coach for various sports programs in Frankfort, Plainfield, and Joliet Illinois, Chicago News Report obtained what appears to be a photograph of Stephenson posing with an all-male volley ball team.
I contacted one of the young men in the photo for his opinion on the charges brought against Stephenson.
So far, he has not responded to my inquiry.

ReplyDeleteMost pedophiles are very selective about their victims. If Mr. Stephenson molested a 12-year-old boy, I doubt it was due to convenience.

Yes, perhaps he is gay as he chose victim(s?) of same sex. But, first and foremost, he is a pedophile and predator. There is no substantial scientific research (citing the Catholic Church as an example of anything just shows ignorance) showing gays are more prone to abusing children than straights. Finally, just yesterday (Saturday), there were 2 different stories of straight men getting caught with teenage girl victims. I see plenty more of those in the newspapers than a gay men abusing children. And finally, search the sexual predator database...there is by no means a higher % of gay men than straights.
ReplyDeleteMike P - 70% of victims are female and 98% are straight male offenders - this would be an underrepresentation. 2% causing 30% of the molestation VS 98% causing 70%.

99+% of child sexual abusers are male
2% of males are gay
30% of victims are boys
There's no way around that.
This does not mean that there are MORE (as in numbers) of gay molesters; just as there are not more black rapists than white. Yet, in both cases they are way overrepresented - meaning a gay male is much more likely to be a child molester than a straight male. And, a black male is much more likely to be a rapist than a white male.

Have spoken to 3 boys who interacted with him in sports many times and they say nothing ever happened so wait and see if the truth comes out before rushing to judgment. It could have been your family member act appropriately!!!!

It is a federal, state, or municipal statute surrounding release of government records to the press or citizens who request them. No bigs, but it's on par with people who scream about "freedom of speech" without really knowing what they're talking about.
ReplyDelete@Brahms, I'm unsure how you assume that all child molesters are gay, unless you have firsthand knowledge. Statistics have shown time and time again that pedophiles are predominantly straight men, but don't let actual facts get in the way of your imagined threat of scary gay people. BTW, being good at punching numbers on a calculator don't make you an expert on psychosexual analysis. At least we know now who is posting the anonymous comments that all homosexuals are sick. That's okay, we don't really like sanctimonious halfwits either.

ReplyDeletePortal - for the second time, pedophiles ARE PREDOMINANTLY STRAIGHT MEN. Read it again if necessary. The point I'm making is that 30% of victims are boys and 2% of men are gay - so gay men are extremely over-represented; they are much more likely to be molesters. Its probabilities not numbers. A molester who is straight chooses girls; a gay molester chooses boys. Pretty simple.

ReplyDeleteThis makes me sick to my stomach. I went to grade school, youth group, and church with this guy. He just got married 2 years ago. I am appailed at this. He is obvousely guilty since they found it in his house. His poor wife. This shows me that you cant trust anyone. darrell will have to stand in front of God someday and I wouldnt want to be him then cuz he is going to get it from God.
ReplyDeleteI have actually met Darrell Stephenson, he's my friends friend's older brother. I've been to his house before and it was pretty scary .. I mean it feels weird having met a Sex Offender . I mean , at least he's in a better place. f-ckin lil asshole.
