The strong-arm robbery occurred on the 700 block of West Buckingham Place, said police.
Three black men attacked their victim from behind.
Then the offenders punched the victim in the face and mouth, said authorities.
The thieves stole the victim’s cell phone, ID, and cash.
According to preliminary reports, the robbery victim was taken to Illinois Masonic Hospital, 836 West Wellington Avenue, for medical treatment.
If you witnessed this crime or saw three black men in the area around the time of robbery, please contact the police.
Honestly, the increase in crime here has been shocking. Further more, I'm not sure our police care enough to do something about it. They take an attitude as if these sorts of things are supposed to be common since it's a neighborhood with late bars, and the ballpark.
ReplyDeleteI honestly watch police in this area take a really lax attitude. I in fact was mugged with my buddy, 3 weeks ago right in front of the new police station and the Addison el stop.
Bloddy from being punched, the police pulled up in a car; then asked us to get in. Never did they leave there car, and it seemed like the young female office in the passenger sleep was half asleep. They drove us around for about 15 minutes, then said "doesn't look like we're going to find them."
During the parade, I was watching officers who were stationed at corners, sitting on a chair reading a newspaper. There were 500,000+ people wandering the streets, shouldn't they be standing up and keeping an eye?
If they're going to throw around terms like "we put our life on the line", then do it, all the time, not some of the time, or after the crime has happened.
Shut down the center on halsted and you get rid of the attacks, plain and simple!

Playing all nice with these parasites doesn't work! More things for them to do? Are you kidding me? They still need money and robbing and beating is their way of getting it. Forget about an "honest" days work..they wouldn't have a clue and couldn't get up on time to get to work...which is a 4 letter word to them!

Please lobby your state representatives and Gov. Quinn for concealed carry legislation. The Police cannot be everywhere at once. We have to protect ourselves. If hundreds of Boystown residents started carrying guns, you can bet this problem would go away promptly.
ReplyDeleteThe robbers cruise around town looking for people that look like they might be vulnerable. They prefer this to actually working for a living. A regular job is too boring and square for these types; a life of crime is more exciting.

ReplyDeleteI would think AND hope that the LAW ABIDING citizens would not just start shooting anyone, unlike the ghetto thugs who use innocent people as human targets. The police can't be everywhere all the time but the ghetto thugs can be so, while more police MIGHT help, sorry, but I prefer to be able to protect myself and I'd be willing to bet that these ghetto thugs will think twice before they jump us IF we have conceal carry.

seriously, I can't believe what i read here. You want people to carry guns so that as you're being attacked, you can pull out your gun and TRY to shoot someone at close range, possibly missing and hitting an innocent passer by in a heavily pedestrian area? Right? That's much safer.

I have never been aggressively approached on any street in Detroit. Ever.
You Lakefront Liberals here truly need to get a clue. Plopping a Starbucks in the 'hood ain't working. I'll now place the MSM label on my forehead (after living here for 5 years, I'm ashamed to be equated with ignorant gays).
Please reconsider what you're marching for in "parades". This "neighborhood" is about making a $ and getting laid. Nothing more. It's gaysploitation to the max and you've primed yourselves for this crime. You're not being taken seriously and being disrespected for many reasons of your own. Business owners turning their nose up to this increasing problem and making light of it will only delay the inevitable.
It's a city. There's going to be crime, purse snatchings, car theft. Bloodshed, open-air drug dealing, racial intimidation? When you hear people that have lived here for 15-20 years commenting that "I've never seen it this bad", I stop and listen. Better get a grip on it Chicago.

If conceal carry is such a stupid idea, than why is Illinois one of two states left that doesn't allow it? Seems the ghetto thugs are the ONLY ones in this state who get to exercise their 2nd amendment...something very wrong with that picture!

And that's EXACTLY what these ghetto thugs needs...something to scare the crap out of them because it seems, they're not afraid of anything. Why? Because they're the ONLY ones carry a gun so what's there to be afraid of???
ReplyDeleteThis neighborhood is my home. I manage a store here. As neighbors, something must be done. I've noticed the police in the ward are spending the majority of time in Wrigleyville cruising around, but what about Boystown? If they aren't doing their job protecting us, we need to come together and establish a neighborhood watch. We need to look after one another.

I was the victim of a vicious attack a few years back by a cab driver. I guarantee this cab driver would have never tried this on the southside or westside b/c his ass would have been shot. Guess what, the criminals already have guns! Why shouldn't we?
