Gunshots reported in Rogers Park, person possibly shot
Around 8:40 p.m., 911 received multiple calls reporting shots fired in Chicago’s North Side Rogers Park neighborhood.
Gunshots were heard on the 7500 block of North Winchester Avenue, at the intersection of Birchwood and Hoyne, and the corner of Howard and Damen.
An officer in the area said the gunfire sounded like it came from Birchwood and Hoyne.
An ambulance was dispatched to 7502 North Hoyne. Apparently, someone has been shot or injured.

it's gonna be a lovely summer in the neighborhoods. Didn't these people EVER watch "Mr. Rogers"??
ReplyDeleteTowanda, I can barely keep up with this violence.
ReplyDelete- "it's gonna be a lovely summer in the neighborhoods. Didn't these people EVER watch "Mr. Rogers"??"
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty sure the shady Howard street thugs in Rogers Park could care less about some guy who changed clothes twice a day named Mister Rogers.
Hell! Most of them don't give a damn about their Mr. Mamas!
ReplyDelete... and their Mr. Mamas don't give a damn about them, either. :-)
ReplyDeleteAh but he did say "it's a beautiful day in the neighborhood"..
ReplyDeletebesides, skokie, I was being facetious..
Lol at "Mr. Mamas". Sad, funny, but very true indeed. I highly doubt these thugs could give a damn about anything in life. They would shoot their own "homie" just to prove a point!
ReplyDelete@towanda- I know, and Mister Rogers did say "it's a beautiful day in the neighborhood". Unfortunately, there are idiots in Rogers Park and throughout Chicago who get a rush off of ruining everyone's "beautiful day... in the neighborhood"!
I heard at one point that it was confirmed to be fireworks instead of a shooting. Both CPD and Evanston were trying to track down where the noise was coming from as both were getting a fair amount of calls regarding it.
ReplyDeleteRach, thanks for the info. Do you know why an ambulance was sent to 7502 North Hoyne? Unless someone injured themselves lighting fireworks, EMS doesn't respond to firecracker calls.
ReplyDeleteA few years ago, I didn't give riding CTA #97 or Pace #215, on Howard Street, a (second) thought.
ReplyDeleteIn the 1960s, with Juneway Terrace public housing, Rogers Park's decline began. :(
