Police are investigating a bank robbery inside a Chicago neighborhood supermarket.
The robbery occurred around 7:59 p.m. at the TCF Bank located inside the Jewel grocery store at 3570 North Elston Avenue.
According to information broadcast over the police radio, the same bank was robbed several years ago.
The suspect approached a TCF Bank teller and handed her note on a “big yellow envelope” that said, “No funny money”, said police.
The bank manager allegedly instructed the teller to give the crook the cash.
The bank robber was described as a white man with gray hair, wearing a green hat, and carrying a bag. Police said the man got away with $1000.00.
