A man believed to be in his twenties was critically wounded by gunfire near a South Side Chicago park.
Based on preliminary information, the shooting may have happened around 7 p.m. on the 5500 block of South Martin Luther King Drive, near Washington Park.
I became aware of the shooting at 7:35 p.m., when police were notified the man was at St. Bernard Hospital.
The shooting victim, who sustained several wounds to his head, was brought to the hospital by a "friend" who was driving a "silver car".
When the shooting victim arrived at the ER, he was unconscious and still had a pulse.

Tough guy to take 2 bullets to the head and survive and lucky for him he had a friend with him. Doubt they'll name names though, just get revenge, which is too bad because this guy got a second chance to do it right. Yes, I am "assuming" these were gang members because, who just shoots at any car unless they are just a really bad shot? Anyone? Any reader who isn't a gang member been shot at while driving their car? I'm just saying...
ReplyDeleteI neglected to update this article. The man later died from his injuries.
ReplyDeleteSeveral reports indicate he was getting into a vehicle when he was shot in the head several times near Washington Park.
That's too bad. Way too many deaths from crime in this city.
